Days between two dates
Add or subtract days
How to use this calculator
- For the number of days between two dates, pick both dates in the first section. The order does not matter; the distance is shown either way.
- To find the date a certain number of days from now, use the second section: pick a start date and type how many days to add.
- Type a negative number, for example -30, to go backwards in time.
- Deadlines are often counted in calendar days, like a 60-day notice period; this calculator counts every calendar day including weekends.
Frequently asked questions
- Are both end dates counted?
- The result is the distance between the two dates: from Monday to Friday is 4 days. If your deadline counts both the first and the last day, add 1 to the result.
- Does it handle leap years?
- Yes. The math works on the real calendar, so February 29 and leap years are counted correctly.
- Can I calculate weeks or months between dates?
- The result is in days; divide by 7 for whole weeks. Months vary in length (28 to 31 days), so a day count is the unambiguous measure.
- Does daylight saving time affect the count?
- No. Days are counted on calendar dates, not clock hours, so a 23- or 25-hour day still counts as exactly one day.
