Random Picker
Draw a winner or shuffle a list, fairly.
Entries: 0
How to use this picker
- Paste or type your entries, one per line; commas and semicolons also work as separators.
- Pick a winner draws one entry at random; every entry has exactly the same chance.
- Shuffle list puts all entries in a random order, useful for turn order or splitting into halves.
- Each press is an independent draw; picking again can select the same entry unless you remove it from the list first.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the draw fair?
- Every entry has the same probability, and the shuffle uses the Fisher-Yates method, which produces every possible order with equal chance.
- Can the same name win twice?
- Yes, draws are independent. For a raffle with multiple winners, delete each winner from the list before the next draw, or shuffle once and read winners from the top.
- Do duplicate entries change the odds?
- Yes: a name listed twice has twice the chance. That is also the easy way to weight entries deliberately.
- Is this suitable for prize draws?
- For informal draws, yes. Regulated lotteries and sweepstakes usually require a documented, auditable procedure; check the rules that apply to yours.
